Description

This Baked Chicken and Stuffing Casserole is a cozy, all-in-one comfort dish featuring tender chicken, creamy soup, and savory stuffing. It’s easy to make and perfect for weeknight dinners or holiday leftovers.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk or chicken broth
  • 1 (6 oz) box stuffing mix (like Stove Top)
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water or as directed on stuffing package
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter (for greasing or dotting on top)
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine stuffing mix with hot water as directed on the package. Let sit while preparing other ingredients.
  3. In another large bowl, mix cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk (or broth), garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Stir in cooked chicken and optional cheese if using. Mix until well combined.
  5. Spread chicken mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  6. Spoon prepared stuffing over the top, spreading gently without pressing down.
  7. Dot top with a few small pieces of butter if desired for added richness.
  8. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, or until hot and bubbly and top is golden brown.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Great way to use leftover rotisserie chicken or turkey.
  • Add sautéed vegetables like celery, onion, or mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.
  • Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated before baking.
