Description

These Best Rice Krispie Treats are ultra-gooey, buttery, and loaded with marshmallows for the perfect chewy texture. A nostalgic, no-bake favorite that’s quick to make and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows (about 5 1/2 cups)
  • 2 cups additional mini marshmallows (for extra gooeyness)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
  2. In a large pot over medium-low heat, melt the butter.
  3. Add the 10 oz bag of marshmallows and salt, stirring constantly until melted and smooth.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Quickly fold in the Rice Krispies cereal and the 2 cups of additional mini marshmallows until evenly coated.
  6. Press the mixture gently into the prepared pan using a buttered spatula or parchment paper. Don’t compact too tightly or the treats will be too dense.
  7. Let cool for at least 30 minutes, then cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Use fresh marshmallows for the best texture and flavor.
  • Add a drizzle of melted chocolate or sprinkle with sea salt for a fun twist.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
