Description

Brie, Apple, and Cranberry Grilled Cheese is a gourmet twist on the classic sandwich, featuring creamy brie, tart apples, and sweet cranberry sauce between crispy, buttery bread slices.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 slices sourdough or artisan bread
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 4 oz brie cheese, sliced
  • 1 small apple, thinly sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 2 tbsp cranberry sauce

Instructions

  1. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  2. On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer brie slices, apple slices, and 1 tbsp cranberry sauce.
  3. Top with the other slices of bread, buttered side facing out.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and place sandwiches in the skillet.
  5. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, pressing slightly, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from heat, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Try adding a handful of arugula for a peppery bite.
  • Use a panini press for even grilling.
  • Can substitute goat cheese or sharp white cheddar for brie.
