A crunchy, fresh, and creamy salad made with broccoli, cauliflower, and a tangy dressing—perfect for picnics, potlucks, or a healthy side dish.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, chopped
  • 2 cups cauliflower florets, chopped
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely diced
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (optional for vegetarian)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (or substitute)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine chopped broccoli, cauliflower, red onion, cheddar cheese, and bacon if using.
  2. In a separate small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, and sugar until smooth.
  3. Pour the dressing over the vegetable mixture and toss until well coated.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, use Greek yogurt in place of sour cream.
  • This salad can be made a day ahead for convenience.
  • Omit bacon for a vegetarian version.
