Description

A spicy and creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta loaded with juicy shrimp, bold Cajun seasoning, and a rich cream sauce served over tender pasta.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 oz fettuccine or linguine pasta
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning to coat evenly.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter. Add onion and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another 1 minute.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  6. Add Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.
  7. Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat.
  8. Return the shrimp to the skillet and mix to combine. Cook for 1-2 more minutes to heat through.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Adjust Cajun seasoning to your spice preference.
  • You can substitute half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
  • Add bell peppers or spinach for extra veggies.
