- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
- 1/2 tsp baking powder (optional, for lighter texture)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder if using.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter and swirl lightly with a knife.
- Add the remaining batter on top and repeat the swirling process with the remaining caramel.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool completely before cutting into squares. Drizzle with extra caramel if desired.
