Ingredients
Scale
Beef Mixture
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 cup marinara or pizza sauce
Dough & Toppings
- 1 tube refrigerated crescent roll dough (8-count)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the oven and baking sheet: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking.
- Cook the beef mixture: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked and no longer pink. Drain excess fat to reduce greasiness. Stir in the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and marinara sauce. Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool a bit to make it easier to handle.
- Prepare the crescent dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into the 8 pre-cut triangles. These will be the base for your roll-ups.
- Assemble roll-ups: Spoon a small amount of the cooled beef mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. Sprinkle a generous layer of shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese over the beef. Roll each triangle from the wide end toward the pointed tip, enclosing the filling securely inside.
- Apply finishing touches: Place the roll-ups on the prepared baking sheet spaced slightly apart. Brush each with olive oil to help them brown nicely. If desired, sprinkle Italian seasoning on top for added flavor.
- Bake: Bake the roll-ups in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until they are puffed up and golden brown on the outside.
- Garnish and serve: Remove the baked roll-ups from the oven and, if desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley for extra taste and color. Serve warm with extra marinara or ranch dressing for dipping.
Notes
- You can substitute the crescent rolls with pizza dough cut into triangles if preferred.
- These roll-ups make a great party appetizer, easy lunchbox treat, or quick dinner option.
- For added flavor and a kick, mix in chopped pickles or jalapeños into the beef filling.
