Description

Chicken Parmesan Pasta Skillet is a one-pan meal that combines crispy chicken, pasta, marinara sauce, and melted cheese. It’s a simple and flavorful dish that brings the classic flavors of Chicken Parmesan into an easy, weeknight-friendly skillet meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup uncooked pasta (penne or rigatoni work well)
  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken pieces with garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the uncooked pasta and pour in 1 1/2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 8-10 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  4. Return the chicken to the skillet and pour in the marinara sauce. Stir to combine and simmer for another 2-3 minutes to heat through.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese over the pasta and chicken mixture. Cover the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can use any short pasta shape like rigatoni, penne, or rotini for this dish.
  • For extra crunch, coat the chicken pieces in breadcrumbs before frying for a more traditional Chicken Parmesan texture.
  • This skillet dish is perfect for serving with a side of garlic bread or a simple salad.
