Ingredients
Scale
Slider Assembly
- 12 Kings Hawaiian rolls
- 1 pound cooked chicken tenders
- ½ cup marinara sauce
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
Butter Topping
- ¼ cup (57g) butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 3 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F to prepare for baking the sliders.
- Prepare the rolls: Carefully split the Kings Hawaiian rolls in half and place the bottom halves side-by-side in a baking dish.
- Layer the sliders: On the bottom buns, layer provolone cheese slices first, then add cooked chicken tenders, followed by marinara sauce, sliced fresh mozzarella, and chopped fresh basil. Then place the top half of the buns over the layered ingredients.
- Make the butter topping: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, sea salt, minced garlic, chopped fresh parsley, and grated parmesan cheese until well combined.
- Brush the topping: Generously brush the butter mixture over the tops of the buns to infuse flavor and help with browning.
- Bake covered: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes to allow everything to heat through and the cheeses to melt perfectly.
- Bake uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes to let the tops become golden brown and slightly crispy.
- Serve hot: Remove the sliders from the oven, slice between each roll to separate, and serve immediately while warm and melty.
Notes
- You can use leftover cooked chicken tenders or rotisserie chicken for convenience.
- For spicier sliders, add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes or use spicy marinara sauce.
- Make ahead by assembling the sliders, covering, and refrigerating overnight. Add 5-10 extra minutes to baking time if baking cold.
- Use provolone and mozzarella cheeses with good melting qualities for best results.
- Brush the butter mixture generously for maximum flavor and an appetizing golden top.
