Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced
  • 1 tbsp adobo sauce
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 tostada shells
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Mexican crema
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Lime wedges for serving


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  2. Stir in chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  3. Warm tostada shells according to package instructions or briefly toast in the oven.
  4. Spoon the chipotle beef mixture evenly onto each tostada shell.
  5. Top with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and cheese.
  6. Drizzle with sour cream or Mexican crema and sprinkle with fresh cilantro.
  7. Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
