Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced
- 1 tbsp adobo sauce
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 tostada shells
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup diced red onion
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
- 1/2 cup sour cream or Mexican crema
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Stir in chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Warm tostada shells according to package instructions or briefly toast in the oven.
- Spoon the chipotle beef mixture evenly onto each tostada shell.
- Top with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and cheese.
- Drizzle with sour cream or Mexican crema and sprinkle with fresh cilantro.
- Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
