  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 12 oz fettuccine or pasta of choice
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk continuously for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
  5. Gradually pour in the milk and heavy cream, whisking to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-5 minutes until thickened.
  6. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning until smooth and creamy.
  7. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and stir to coat with the sauce.
  8. Add the cooked pasta and toss everything together until well combined.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream for a lighter version.
  • Add steamed broccoli or spinach for extra veggies.
