- 8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth and let it simmer for 2 minutes.
- Add heavy cream and parmesan cheese. Stir until cheese is melted and sauce thickens slightly.
- Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat with sauce.
- Add cooked pasta to the skillet and mix until evenly combined and heated through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot.
Notes
- You can substitute chicken broth with white wine for added depth.
- Use freshly grated parmesan for the best flavor and texture.
- Add red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
