Description

An easy banana caramel dessert that’s perfect as a topping for pancakes, ice cream, or waffles. It’s quick to make and loaded with warm caramel flavor and tender bananas.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add the brown sugar and stir until it dissolves and the mixture starts to bubble.
  3. Stir in the cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt.
  4. Add the banana slices and cook for 2-3 minutes until they are warmed and slightly softened.
  5. Remove from heat and serve warm over your favorite dessert or breakfast dish.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm bananas to prevent them from becoming mushy.
  • This topping is best served immediately but can be reheated gently if needed.
  • Try adding a splash of dark rum for a Bananas Foster twist.
