Description

This easy crock pot bread is a no-fuss way to make homemade bread without needing an oven. Soft on the inside with a golden crust, it’s perfect for beginners.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the bowl. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on parchment paper.
  5. Line a crock pot with parchment paper and place the dough inside.
  6. Cover and cook on high for 2 to 2.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 190°F (88°C).
  7. For a golden crust, place the loaf under a broiler for 2–3 minutes after cooking (optional).
  8. Let the bread cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • You can add herbs like rosemary or thyme for extra flavor.
  • Check the bottom of the bread for doneness—it should be firm and lightly browned.
  • Use a tea towel under the lid to catch condensation for a better crust.
