Description

A simple and creamy rice pudding made with basic ingredients, perfect for a comforting dessert or snack.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine rice, milk, sugar, and salt.
  2. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 45-50 minutes or until the mixture is thick and creamy.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and optional cinnamon and raisins.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm or chilled.

Notes

  • Use cooked rice to shorten cooking time; reduce simmering to about 20 minutes.
  • Adjust sugar to taste depending on sweetness preference.
