Description

A classic comfort food dish made with seasoned ground beef patties simmered in a rich mushroom and onion gravy, perfect for a hearty meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup sliced onions
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp ketchup


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form into 4 oval patties.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown patties on both sides. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add mushrooms and onions. Cook until softened.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the mixture, stir, and cook for 1 minute.
  6. Add beef broth and ketchup, stirring to combine.
  7. Return patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until cooked through and gravy thickens.
  8. Serve hot with gravy spooned over the steaks.

Notes

  • Use ground turkey for a leaner option.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or egg noodles for a complete meal.
