Description

A quick and easy French Bread Pizza recipe that’s perfect for a satisfying weeknight meal or snack, featuring crusty French bread topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread (about 1214 oz), halved lengthwise
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sliced fresh basil or chopped parsley (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the halved French bread, cut side up, on a baking sheet. Brush lightly with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Bake the bread for 5 minutes, until slightly toasted.
  4. Remove from oven. Spread marinara sauce evenly over each half.
  5. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese across the sauce layer.
  6. Add pepperoni slices or any other desired toppings.
  7. Sprinkle with dried oregano and return to the oven.
  8. Bake for another 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool for 2–3 minutes.
  10. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley, slice, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Customize toppings: try veggies like bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, or cooked sausage.
  • For extra crispiness, finish under the broiler for 1–2 minutes—watch carefully!
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven at 350°F until warmed.
  • Make-ahead tip: Prepare and refrigerate before baking; bake within a few hours for best texture.
