A quick and easy French Bread Pizza recipe that’s perfect for a satisfying weeknight meal or snack, featuring crusty French bread topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and your favorite toppings.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread (about 12–14 oz), halved lengthwise
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni (optional)
- 1/4 cup sliced fresh basil or chopped parsley (optional)
- 1/4 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Olive oil (for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the halved French bread, cut side up, on a baking sheet. Brush lightly with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Bake the bread for 5 minutes, until slightly toasted.
- Remove from oven. Spread marinara sauce evenly over each half.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese across the sauce layer.
- Add pepperoni slices or any other desired toppings.
- Sprinkle with dried oregano and return to the oven.
- Bake for another 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from oven and let cool for 2–3 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh basil or parsley, slice, and serve hot.
