Description

Grilled Shrimp Skewers are a quick and flavorful seafood dish featuring marinated shrimp cooked to perfection on a grill, ideal for summer gatherings or weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp garlic powder or 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add shrimp to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover and marinate for 15 minutes to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  3. Soak wooden skewers in water for 20–30 minutes if using.
  4. Thread the marinated shrimp onto skewers.
  5. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  6. Grill the shrimp skewers for 2–3 minutes per side, or until shrimp are pink and opaque.
  7. Remove from grill, garnish with parsley, and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Do not over-marinate the shrimp as the acid can start to cook them.
  • Use metal skewers or soaked wooden ones to prevent burning.
  • This dish pairs well with rice, salad, or grilled vegetables.
  • Can also be broiled in the oven if a grill is not available.
