Description

Honey Garlic Shrimp is a quick and flavorful dish featuring juicy shrimp coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. Perfect for a weeknight meal or impressive appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
  • Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger.
  2. Place shrimp in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour half of the sauce over them. Marinate for 15-30 minutes in the fridge.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove shrimp from marinade (discard used marinade) and cook in the skillet for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  5. Pour in the remaining sauce and bring to a simmer. Optional: Add cornstarch slurry and stir until sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Serve over rice or noodles for a complete meal.
  • Use fresh or frozen shrimp (thawed) for convenience.
  • Add vegetables like broccoli or snap peas for extra nutrition.
