Description

A hearty and flavorful hot dog chili with beans, perfect for topping your favorite hot dogs or enjoying on its own.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  2. Add chopped onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and all the spices.
  4. Add the kidney beans and water, stir to combine.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally until the chili thickens.
  6. Serve hot over grilled or boiled hot dogs.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, increase the cayenne pepper or add hot sauce.
  • This chili can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
  • Use lean ground beef for a lower-fat option.
