Description

A large-batch, classic margarita recipe perfect for parties, combining tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and simple syrup for a refreshing and tangy cocktail served by the gallon.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 6 cups tequila (preferably blanco)
  • 2 cups triple sec (such as Cointreau or Grand Marnier)
  • 2 cups fresh lime juice (about 16-20 limes)
  • 1.5 cups simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup water (optional, to dilute slightly)
  • Lime wedges, for garnish
  • Salt, for rimming glasses
  • Ice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large pitcher or beverage dispenser, combine the tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and simple syrup.
  2. Stir well to mix all ingredients evenly.
  3. Add 1 cup of water if you prefer a slightly diluted drink.
  4. Refrigerate until well chilled or serve immediately over ice.
  5. Rim glasses with salt by rubbing a lime wedge on the rim and dipping it in salt.
  6. Fill glasses with ice and pour in the margarita mixture.
  7. Garnish with lime wedges and serve.

Notes

  • Use fresh lime juice for best flavor, not bottled.
  • Adjust the sweetness by increasing or decreasing the simple syrup to taste.
  • Use high-quality tequila for a smoother drink.
  • This recipe can be scaled up or down easily.
