Description

A hearty and comforting meatball casserole featuring juicy meatballs, savory marinara sauce, and melted cheese, baked to perfection for a satisfying family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  4. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes. They do not need to be fully cooked through.
  5. Transfer the meatballs to a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce evenly over the meatballs.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and oregano on top.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use store-bought or homemade marinara sauce based on preference.
  • Serve with pasta, rice, or crusty bread for a complete meal.
  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
