Description

A rich, tangy tomato-based sauce that’s perfect for topping meatloaf, adding moistness and flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and vinegar.
  2. Whisk until sugar is dissolved and ingredients are well blended.
  3. Add garlic powder, onion powder, and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Brush half the sauce evenly over the meatloaf during the last 15 minutes of cooking.
  5. Use remaining sauce to serve alongside or drizzle on top when serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne or chili powder.
  • Make ahead and refrigerate—flavors meld beautifully overnight.
  • Leftover sauce can be used as a dipping sauce or glaze for other meats.
