Description

Mexican Paletas are refreshing homemade popsicles made with fresh fruit, natural juices, and minimal sugar, perfect for cooling off with vibrant flavors and wholesome ingredients.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups fresh fruit (e.g., mango, strawberry, pineapple, watermelon)
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup water or fruit juice (e.g., orange juice, lime juice, coconut water)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel, and chop the fruit as needed.
  2. In a blender, combine fruit, sugar, water or juice, lime juice (if using), and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth.
  3. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary.
  4. Pour the mixture into popsicle molds, leaving a little space at the top for expansion.
  5. Insert sticks and freeze for at least 4–6 hours, or until completely solid.
  6. To release, run warm water over the outside of the molds for a few seconds and gently pull out the paletas.

Notes

  • You can leave some fruit chunks for texture if desired.
  • Combine different fruits or add herbs like mint or basil for variation.
  • For creamy paletas, replace water with yogurt or coconut milk.
