Description

Quick and easy method to cook corn on the cob in the microwave, perfect for a fast and delicious side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ear of corn, in husk
  • Water (optional, for soaking)
  • Butter, to taste (optional)
  • Salt, to taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Leave the corn in its husk and place it in the microwave.
  2. Microwave on high for 4 minutes. If your microwave is lower wattage, microwave for 5 minutes.
  3. Carefully remove the corn from the microwave using oven mitts—it will be hot.
  4. Let it cool slightly for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Cut off the base of the corn just above the stem.
  6. Squeeze from the top to slide the corn out of the husk, which should also remove the silk.
  7. Season with butter and salt if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can soak the corn in water for 10 minutes before microwaving if you prefer a more steamed texture.
  • Adjust cooking time based on your microwave’s power and the size of the corn.
  • Use a towel or oven mitt to handle hot corn safely.
