Description

Festive Red, White, and Blue Cupcakes served in wine glasses—perfect for patriotic holidays like the 4th of July. These layered cupcakes combine colorful cake, whipped cream, and berries for a fun and elegant dessert presentation.

Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • Red food coloring
  • Blue food coloring
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Prepare the white cake mix according to package instructions using eggs, oil, and water.
  3. Divide the batter evenly into three bowls. Leave one plain (white), add red food coloring to one, and blue to another.
  4. Fill each cupcake liner with a spoonful of each color to create a layered effect. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Let the cupcakes cool completely.
  6. In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  7. Slice the cupcakes in half horizontally. Place one half at the bottom of each wine glass.
  8. Layer with whipped cream and berries. Repeat layers as desired.
  9. Top with extra whipped cream and garnish with a few berries.
  10. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use gel food coloring for more vibrant colors without thinning the batter.
  • These can be made a few hours in advance and stored in the fridge.
  • Try using mason jars as an alternative to wine glasses for a more casual look.
