- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 10 oz mini marshmallows
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- Assorted candy eyes
- Assorted candy corn
- Mini chocolate chips or small round candies (for decoration)
- Food coloring (optional: orange, red, yellow)
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth. Stir in vanilla extract if using.
- If using food coloring, divide the marshmallow mixture into bowls and add desired colors.
- Remove from heat and gently stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until well coated.
- Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then form into round shapes using greased hands or molds.
- Decorate each treat with candy eyes, candy corn (for feathers), and chocolate chips or candies to make turkey faces or festive characters.
- Let the decorated treats cool and set completely before serving.
Notes
- Use wax paper to prevent sticking while shaping the treats.
- Let kids decorate their own turkeys for added fun.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
