Scale
Ingredients
- 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (8 count)
- 1/2 lb breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
- 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Chopped green onions or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Muffin Tin: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a muffin tin to prevent sticking.
- Cook Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease and set aside to cool slightly.
- Mix Sausage Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Mix thoroughly until well blended.
- Form Biscuit Cups: Separate the refrigerated biscuits and flatten each one into about a 4-inch circle. Press each flattened biscuit into the greased muffin cups, shaping them to form a cup.
- Fill and Bake: Spoon the sausage cheese mixture evenly into each biscuit cup. Bake in the preheated oven for 13 to 15 minutes, or until the biscuit cups are golden brown and the cheese filling is bubbly.
- Cool and Garnish: Allow the sausage cheese biscuit cups to cool for 5 minutes in the muffin tin before carefully removing. Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley, if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
- You can prep the sausage filling ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to assemble.
- These biscuit cups reheat well and make great leftover snacks.
- The cooked and assembled cups can be frozen after baking for longer storage.
