- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
- Place the chicken legs in the bottom of a slow cooker.
- In a medium bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, dried basil, and black pepper.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken legs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
- Optional: To thicken the sauce, mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl and stir into the sauce during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Serve hot with your favorite side dishes like rice or vegetables.
Notes
- You can remove the skin from the chicken legs for a lower fat version.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes if you prefer a little heat.
