Description

A hearty and comforting Slow Cooker Meatball Casserole made with tender meatballs, pasta, marinara sauce, and melted cheese — all cooked together for an easy family-friendly meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 bag (26 oz) frozen meatballs
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups uncooked penne or rotini pasta
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place frozen meatballs in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Pour marinara sauce and beef broth over the meatballs.
  3. Add Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir to combine.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
  5. Stir in uncooked pasta, cover again, and cook on high for an additional 30-45 minutes, or until the pasta is tender.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top, cover, and let sit for 10 minutes until cheese is melted.
  7. Garnish with chopped fresh basil or parsley before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • Use any short pasta like rotini, penne, or ziti.
  • Check pasta after 30 minutes to avoid overcooking.
  • Can be made with homemade meatballs if preferred.
