Ingredients

- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg plus 1 egg yolk
Additional:
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the melted butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth. Beat in the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until light and creamy.
- Combine Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Bake: Drop dough onto baking sheets and bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden but centers are slightly underbaked. Cool on a wire rack.
