Description

Spicy Watermelon Fries are a refreshing and bold snack made from watermelon sticks tossed in chili-lime seasoning. Perfect for summer gatherings or as a unique appetizer with a kick.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 cups watermelon, cut into fry-shaped sticks
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Tajín or similar chili-lime seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • 1 lime, zested and juiced
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cut the watermelon into fry-like sticks, about 1/2 inch thick.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the chili powder, Tajín, cayenne pepper (if using), lime zest, and sea salt.
  3. Place the watermelon sticks in a large bowl and sprinkle the spice mix over them.
  4. Drizzle the lime juice on top and gently toss to coat the watermelon evenly.
  5. Arrange on a serving platter and garnish with chopped cilantro if desired.
  6. Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For a smoky twist, try adding a pinch of smoked paprika to the seasoning mix.
  • Use seedless watermelon for easier eating.
  • This dish is best served fresh as the watermelon releases water over time.
