Description

A nostalgic layered dessert combining a crunchy pretzel crust, smooth cream cheese layer, and a sweet strawberry jello topping.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 3 tbsp white sugar (for crust)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar (for filling)
  • 8 oz whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed
  • 2 (3 oz) boxes strawberry gelatin (Jell-O)
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 (10 oz) packages frozen strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tbsp sugar. Press into a 9×13-inch baking dish and bake for 8-10 minutes. Cool completely.
  3. Beat cream cheese and 1 cup sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Spread over cooled pretzel crust, sealing edges.
  4. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add frozen strawberries and stir until mixture begins to thicken.
  5. Pour strawberry mixture over cream layer. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese layer completely seals the crust to prevent sogginess.
  • Use fresh strawberries for a fresher flavor if desired.
  • This dessert can be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge.
