A nostalgic layered dessert combining a crunchy pretzel crust, smooth cream cheese layer, and a sweet strawberry jello topping.
Ingredients
- 2 cups crushed pretzels
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 3 tbsp white sugar (for crust)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup white sugar (for filling)
- 8 oz whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed
- 2 (3 oz) boxes strawberry gelatin (Jell-O)
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 (10 oz) packages frozen strawberries
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tbsp sugar. Press into a 9×13-inch baking dish and bake for 8-10 minutes. Cool completely.
- Beat cream cheese and 1 cup sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Spread over cooled pretzel crust, sealing edges.
- Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add frozen strawberries and stir until mixture begins to thicken.
- Pour strawberry mixture over cream layer. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.
Notes
- Ensure the cream cheese layer completely seals the crust to prevent sogginess.
- Use fresh strawberries for a fresher flavor if desired.
- This dessert can be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge.
