Description

A delicious fusion of Japanese and American flavors, the Teriyaki Burger features a juicy beef patty glazed with sweet and savory teriyaki sauce, topped with fresh veggies and served on a toasted bun.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 pineapple rings (optional)
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices tomato
  • 4 slices red onion
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt and pepper and form into 4 patties.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened. Set aside.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Cook burger patties for 4-5 minutes per side or until fully cooked.
  4. Brush patties with teriyaki glaze during the last minute of cooking.
  5. Toast hamburger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
  6. Assemble burgers by placing lettuce, tomato, and red onion on the bottom bun. Add the teriyaki-glazed patty and top with a pineapple ring (if using).
  7. Cover with the top bun and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground chicken or turkey for a leaner option.
  • Grilled pineapple adds a sweet contrast and enhances the teriyaki flavor.
  • For a spicier version, add sriracha mayo or sliced jalapeños.
