Description

These Thick and Chewy M&M Cookies are a delightful treat that combines the classic cookie dough with colorful M&M candies. They are perfect for any occasion and are sure to be a hit with both kids and adults alike.


Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg plus 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Mix-Ins:

  • 1 1/2 cups M&M candies, plus extra for topping
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Mix wet ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, stir the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well combined. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  4. Combine ingredients: Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in the M&M candies and chocolate chips, if using.
  5. Bake: Scoop the dough into 2-tablespoon portions and place on the prepared baking sheets. Press a few extra M&Ms on top of each dough ball. Bake for 12–14 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers still look soft.
  6. Cool and serve: Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For even thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Swap M&Ms for seasonal colors or minis for variety.
