Description

A healthy and flavorful twist on the classic comfort food, this turkey meatloaf is moist, delicious, and easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lbs ground turkey
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (plus more for topping)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine breadcrumbs and milk. Let sit for a few minutes to absorb.
  3. Add ground turkey, egg, onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Mix until just combined—do not overmix.
  4. Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan and shape into a loaf.
  5. Spread a thin layer of ketchup over the top of the loaf.
  6. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use lean ground turkey for a healthier option, but avoid extra lean to prevent dryness.
  • Add finely chopped vegetables like bell pepper or carrot for extra flavor and moisture.
  • Leftovers make excellent sandwiches or can be frozen for later.
